The City of Edmonds to Vote on Environmental Policies & Principles

On Tuesday, March 25th the City of Edmonds will vote on a resolution of environmental principles and policies.

On Tuesday, March 25th The Edmonds City Council will vote on a resolution that will address the Environmental Policies and Principles of The City of Edmonds. The public hearing will begin at 7:00 pm at the Council Chambers, Public Safely Complex, 250 5th Avenue North, Edmonds. Map.

In short, the resolution will help improve the environmental integrity of city policies and principles—helping to save Edmonds’ diverse streams, urban forests and quality shorelines from poorly planned development and environmental degradation while accommodating growth that is coming to the community.

  • We support Edmonds efforts to create policies that will preserve economic vitality, the quality of life and protect the environment.  
  • We encourage Edmonds to create walkable, livable neighborhoods with the majority of new development centered around transit to make it easier for residents to get around and to reduce Green House Gas emissions.
  • We would like to see the city develop standards for low impact development and green building that protect our environment and make our community a regional example for sustainability.
